Bio.
Zay Grastley is a singer/songwriter who was born in Southeast Washington, DC. After giving birth his mother relocated the family to many different states and locations before they landed in Gastonia, NC.
Growing up in a single parent household Zay's mother worked several jobs to support her family. Zay only had his grandfather to look to as a father figure, with his mother and grandfather's influence he was raised with a strong work ethic and a respect for others from all walks of life.
As a child Zay gravitated towards music and sports. During his teen years he rose above the many obstacles that he was faced molding him into the man he is today.
Some of Zay's musical influences are Darius Rucker as a solo artist and as the lead singer to the band Hootie and the Blowfish, Charley Pride, Kid Rock, Andre 3000 of Outkast and Cee-lo Green ( former vocalist of Gnarles Barkley and former Judge of The Voice ) . With Bob Marley and John Mayer being his favorite musicians you can hear the love of a country soul.
